(Its) A Boy!

Last Friday I received a desperate phone call about a severely starved and abandoned horse in Orange, Texas. He was thankfully owner surrendered to the Orange county dog Pound. Though to date they have not been set up for horses, they took him right in, and a blanket and feed were donated for him. On Tuesday, he became a Soul Horse. He was picked up that day, and immediately taken to the vet for all that he needed. He is an older guy… Oh yes! Funny story.. we were told this was a mayor.. but lo and behold he is in fact a gelding. (It’s a Boy!) He is now in rehabilitation in Beaumont with my dear friend Bridget, funded by Soul Afire. (Subsidiary 501c3 non-profit LLC) Despite all that he has obviously been through.. he is still curious, and greets his new humans with a nicker. I cannot wait to see him begin to flourish. As of now he has had all of his preliminary that work such as coggins, shots and power pack of wormer. He is covered in rain rot, which is being treated. His feet will be tended to friday. His teeth will be done next week. For now he is comfortable, eating and drinking well, and spending the sunny part of the day in a paddock with grass and Friends nearby so he is in quarantine, he can see them. I’m thrilled we were able to help this old boy, and so grateful for my friends Rita and Bridget who with zero hesitation have helped him so much already. ❤️
Intake Date ~1.11.22
